About 4 500 units of agricultural equipment were purchased in Kazakhstan in 2011, Kazakh Minister for Agriculture Assylzhan Mamytbekov told the Ministry’s board meeting on Friday.
According to Mamytbekov, due to the purchase of new tractors, harvester threshers and other equipment the area under drip irrigation has increased nine-fold up to 17 thousand hectares since 2008.
More than KZT 18 billion was allocated through KazAgro Holding for leasing 1622 units of agricultural equipment, which is by 26 percent more than in 2010.
