Almaty region restored the glory of the beet-raising region of Kazakhstan

Almaty region today has regained the fame of the beet-raising region of the country, the IA “Kazakh-Zerno” reports. This year it is planned to get a record 350 thousand tons of sugar beet harvest. Akim of Almaty region Amandyk Batalov said this during a briefing.

As reported on the website of the akimat of the region, thanks to the application of modern agricultural machinery and elite seeds in individual farms, the yield reaches 500-700 quintals per hectare, and this year it is planned to get a record harvest of 350 thousand tons.

– Koksu sugar factory, which has undergone a complete reconstruction, has successfully operated for the third year. For 3 years, investors have invested almost 3 billion tenge. After nearly 10 years of downtime, Aksu sugar mill with a capacity of 300,000 tons per year was launched. The other day we will get the first batch of sugar from this mill, – said the akim of the region A.Batalov.

Also, the head of the region stressed that this year it is planned to receive 35 thousand tons of sugar, thus the region’s demand will be completely covered.

“Our goal is to further increase sugar production to meet the needs of the whole country,” A.Batalov said.
