As of January 1, 2014 in the East Kazakhstan region, according to the Department of Statistics, there were 587.5 thousand tons of grain, including 389.2 thousand tons is intended for food purposes, 90.7 thousand tons – seeds, 107.6 thousand tons – for fodder.
In the availability of grain at the reporting date the share of wheat was 72.6%. There were 1.5 thousand subjects of grain owners, including 1.3 thousand farms. The share of grain elevators and cereal receiving points was 17.8 % of the volume of grain, farms – 43.4%, agricultural enterprises – 28.3%, flour mills and other structures (including wholesale trade) – 10.5%.
Significant amounts of grain (84.8%) are stored in 7 districts of the region: Borodulikhinsky, Shemonaikhinsky, Kokpektinsky, Zyryanovsky, Urjarsky, Ulansky district and the city of Ust -Kamenogorsk. These regions are home to major producers and enterprises engaged in the processing and storage of grain.
During January-December, 2013 for processing in food purposes it was used 251.5 thousand tons, including wheat – 227.0 thousand tons.
It should be noted that to the level of similar date last year, the availability of grain was 109.3%, including wheat – 103.6%, reported the IA “Kazakh-Zerno”. The share of the region in the national volume of grain is 4.3% (4th place among the regions).
