In August, Kazakhstan’s grain reserves increased by almost 1.6 times. According to the information on harvesting of grain and leguminous crops, as of August 29, 2017, 4,559.9 thousand tons of grain was threshed, and on August 1, 1,066 thousand tons of grain crops were harvested. Harvesting campaign in the grain belt of the republic with the main grain crops began much later. Only in the late August the harvesting started in Kostanay and Akmola regions and approximately in the middle of August in the North-Kazakhstan region. Thus, most of the grain from these regions will go to storage in September.
According to the Statistics Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 4,184,647 tons of grain was stored in the republic on August 1, and 6,568,485 tons as of September 1. As a result, in the course of domestic consumption, exports, new grain, losses, from August 1 to September 1, grain reserves in Kazakhstan increased by 2,383,838 tons, or by 57%, writes the IA “Kazakh-Zerno”.
In August, the amount of food grain in Kazakhstan increased from 3,537,018 to 5,441,294 tons, by 1,904,276 tons, or 153.8%, forage grain increased in a larger proportion from 494,505 to 875,339 tons, by 380,834 tons or 177%. Seed grain fund increased from 153124 to 251,852 tons, by 98,728 tons, or 164.5%.
