It’s been a strange year for producers in Manitoba with all sorts of weather to deal with, but a some crops have been doing better than normal, reported “Kazakh-Zerno” NA with reference to the “Portage Online“.
Larry Fischer, Farm Production Advisor out of Manitoba Agriculture ‘s Gladstone office, says winter wheat in the Portage area and some barley crops are ready to be harvested and it’s faster than most years.
Fischer says this year will see some spread out harvests. While winter wheat and barley are ready to go now, a lot of crops were set back by the wet weather we experienced and may come in late.
