Modern farming equipment will be made in East Kazakhstan in 2013.
New locally-produced sowing machines will be used for several kinds of crops. Furthermore, customers will enjoy a 30% price cut for grain combined harvesters and tractors imported from Austria. Local farmers suggested during a workshop in the Glubokovsky district that new equipment needs to be produced in their region because they overpay a lot for the delivery of new equipment. Modern sowing machines are now being produced in the region but these are not enough to fully meet the demand. Farming managers said that tractors and grain combine harvesters would also enjoy a high demand and some of the most called-for pieces of agricultural equipment will have been made in the region by 2013. Specialists point out that the use of state-of-the-art technologies will enable farm workers to obtain proceeds to the tune of up to 300 US dollars per hectare.
Director of Astana-business LLP Farid Betayev: “The equipment helps us to sow grain, oil-bearing and other crops. Moreover, we’ll be able to use it to sow all the crops with just one piece of equipment which is operative during the entire season from spring to autumn. Just a few operating elements need replacement”.
Deputy governor of Ulan district Slyamgazy Nugmanov: “The regional governor has given an instruction today to assemble the equipment here. The equipment will be half the current prices. Farms are now receiving their equipment through AgroFinance which involves loans and interest, this is not particularly profitable. Upon arrival, we will bring all our farmers together and will draw up a comprehensive list”.
