Food products in Kazakhstan grew in price by 7.4% – Ministry of Economics

Prices for food products in February 2015 compared to February 2014 increased in price by 7.4%, according to the Statistics Committee of the Ministry of Economics of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In February 2015 compared with the corresponding month of 2014, prices of cereals increased by 22%, flour – by 14.9%, coffee, tea and cocoa – by 10.2%, dairy products – by 9.7% sugar – by 9.5%, fish and seafood – 9.1%, bakeries and flour products – by 8.5%, confectionery products – by 8.4%, bread – by 8.2%, pasta – by 7.2%, alcoholic beverages – by 7.1%, fruits and vegetables – by 7%, oils and fats – by 2.2%.

Increase in prices for meat and meat products for the mentioned period amounted to 4.4%, informed the IA “Kazakh-Zerno”. Level of prices for poultry grew by 14.6%, sausage products – by 11%, pork – by 8%, horse meat – by 1.7%, and for mutton decreased by 0.4%.
