Consumer price index in the East Kazakhstan region, which characterizes the rate of inflation for March 2014 compared to the previous month, was 101.3%, to December 2013 – 103.3%.
As noted the statistics of the regional department, among food products in March 2014 compared with February was recorded a price increase for rye bread and rye-wheat by 1.9%, first-rate wheat flour – by 0.6%, cereals – by 0.8%, pasta – by 1.8%, baby food – by 2.9%, bakery and pastry products – by 2.5%.
Also increase in pork prices was fixed at the level of 0.3%, poultry – 0.4%, sausages, meat products – 1.6%, fish and seafood – 3.2%, dairy products – 2.8%, unsalted butter – 2.6%, sunflower – by 0.2%, eggs – by 0.7%, fresh fruits and vegetables – by 6.0% (pears, carrots, cucumbers – 1.0-2.4%, apples, oranges, potatoes – by 3.1-3.8%, bananas, lemons, tomatoes – 4.8-6.4%, cabbage – by 12.6%, onion – by 27.1%), confectionery products – by 1.4%, sugar – by 5.7%, salt – 2.2%, non-alcoholic drinks – by 1.6%, alcohol – by 1.5%, tobacco products – by 1.7%.
However, there was a decline in prices for top-grade wheat flour by 0.3%.
We should note, according to the monitoring of the IA “Kazakh-Zerno” at the end of March wheat of 3 class in EKR was sold at 38,500 tenge per ton ($211.5), barley – 31,500 tenge per ton ($173.04). Flour of top-grade, first- and second-rates in East Kazakhstan was sold at 61,200 ($336.2), 58,300 ($320.27) and 53,900 tenge per ton ($296.1).
