In January-July, 2012 the intermodal exchange of the Aktau International Commercial Sea Port National State-run enterprise has exceeded 6.73 thousand tonnes.
The transportation of grain has grown by 6 times and reached 459 thousand tonnes. The Aktau port on the Mangyshlak Peninsula on the Caspian Sea has strategic importance for the development of the economy as a whole, since it is the only international seaport in the country.
