In the beginning of the current year Kazakhstan had about 5.7 million heads of cattle. Just for a couple of months its population increased to 6180.4 thousand heads, writes the correspondent of the IA “Kazakh-Zerno”.
The current figure is slightly higher than last year: in March 2013 the number of cattle was at 6 million heads. Also it is worth noting that since summer period the number of cattle in the country decreased by more than 1 million heads.
About 907 thousand heads of cattle in the beginning of the month were kept in the farms of Almaty breeders, three dozen thousand heads less were kept in the South Kazakhstan backyards, and just over 823 thousand live on farms of East Kazakhstan farmers.
In other regions of the country the number of cattle does not exceed 472 thousand heads.
