In the consumer market of the West Kazakhstan region prices for goods and services in May 2019 compared with December 2018 increased by 2.2 percent, according to the regional statistics department.

In May, the price index for food products was equal to 100.9 percent.

According to statisticians, prices increased for bakery and flour confectionery products by 0.3 percent, oils and fats — by 0.5 percent, dairy products — by 0.6 percent, sausages, meat products — by 1.1 percent, non-alcoholic beverages — by 1.4 percent, flour — by 1.7 percent, meat and poultry — by 2.3 percent, cereals — by 3.3 percent, pasta — by 3.6 percent, bread — by 5.5 percent, fish and seafood — by 6.6 percent, reports “KazakhZerno.kz” NA.

The price of eggs fell by 1 percent, fruits and vegetables — by 1.7percent, including cucumbers and tomatoes — by 49.9percent and 24.2percent, respectively.

In January-May this year, food prices grew by 5.1 percent, which was due to the increase in prices for bakery and flour confectionery products by 1.3 percent, non-alcoholic beverages — by 3.2 percent, meat and poultry — by 4 percent, alcoholic beverages, tobacco products — by 5 percent, pasta — by 6.3 percent, fish and seafood — by 6.6 percent, cereals — by 7.6 percent, flour — by 14.9 percent, bread — by 16.4 percent.

Sugar prices fell by 1.7percent,cost of eggs — by 5.3percent.
