In the East Kazakhstan sunflower acreage will be cut by more than 5%

In the East Kazakhstan region will be continued measures aimed at diversification of crop acreage. The proportion of cereal crops in the structure of crops will be increased to 48.1%, feed crops – to 22% and the share of sunflower crop in the structure of crops will be reduced from 30.6% to 25%, reported in the regional information centre.

We recall, as previously reported the IA “Kazakh-Zerno”, last year the East Kazakhstan region was the sixth taking into account the harvested area of cereals in the republic with the exponent of 567.7 thousand ha; they are mowed off. The average yield was 14.9 q/ ha, which allowed harvesting 842.9 thousand tons of grain.

According to the head of the department of agriculture of the EKR Dyusumbay Selikhanov, the Programme for further development of AIC in 2015 will be built in accordance with the principal directions announced by the President in his Address to the Nation “Nurly Zhol – way to the future.”

In 2015 for AIC are outlined measures to diversify acreage, increase the share of advanced technologies in agriculture, expand an irrigated area, and increase milk production.

Also, according to him, it is planned to increase the area of cultivation of crops using advanced technologies up to 440 thousand ha. In arid areas of the region will be carried out work to organize application of modern technologies of zero tillage.

“On the area of 9.5 thousand ha we plan to apply water-saving technologies, including drip irrigation method – on 1,100 hectares,” added D.Selikhanov.
