In the North Kazakhstan, the output of agricultural products increased 1.5 times for five years

The volume of gross regional product (GRP) for 2012-2016 in the North-Kazakhstan region increased by 9.7% and amounted to 918.2 billion tenge in 2016, or $ 2683.6 million. The GRP per capita in 2016 was 1,621 thousand tenge, according to the department of statistics.

The largest share in the GRP region is traditionally occupied by agriculture (24.5% on average over five years).

The volume of gross agricultural production for five years increased from KZT 272.3 billion in 2012 to KZT 411.6 billion in 2016. Agricultural output per capita in 2016 amounted to 726.4 thousand tenge, reports the IA “Kazakh-Zerno” referring to the statistical data.

In the structure of the gross output of agriculture, the crop sector occupies a leading position, accounting for more than 70% of all production. Its basis is grain production, occupying more than 73% of the sown area. Gross harvest of cereals from 2012 to 2016 amounted to 23.6 million tons with an average yield of 14.1 quintals per hectare.

Sown areas of fodder crops increased from 240.7 thousand hectares in 2012 to 610.7 thousand hectares in 2016, oilseeds – from 383.6 to 508.2 thousand hectares.
