In the South Kazakhstan the share of cattle population is 14%

About 14% of the total number of cattle in the country, according to statistics data, accounts for farmsteads of South Kazakhstan citizens. Over the last year, according to the national statistics agency, was marked reduction in the number of cattle.

At the beginning of December this year in the South Kazakhstan was fixed 848.3 thousand heads of cattle. On the same date in 2012 local farmsteads had 881.2 thousand (870.3 thousand in 2011), reported the IA “Kazakh-Zerno”.

Over the past two years, the largest number of cattle in the region was recorded on June 1 this year – 1 million 54.9 thousand heads.

We recall that in Kazakhstan at the beginning of December was available 6003.5 thousand heads of cattle, more than 66 thousand less compared with the same date in 2012.

By the end of the year breeders from the South Kazakhstan also reduced the number of sheep and goats to 3.4 million heads. Nevertheless, they still remain major sheep farmers of the country in whose backyards, as of January 1, were 3 million 405.4 thousand heads of cattle. According to the Statistics Agency of Kazakhstan, a year ago the number was 551.5 thousand less.

Maximum number of heads in the last two years in the region was fixed in June last year, when their number exceeded 5 million 37 thousand.

The total number of small cattle in the country at the beginning of the current month was 16 027.4 thousand heads, 2.9 million less than the same period in 2012.
