Consumer price index in January 2014 compared to December 2013 in Almaty was 101%. Prices and tariffs for paid services increased by 2.4%, food products – by 0.4%, non-food – by 0.2%. Thus, according to the local department of statistics, a significant impact on the dynamics of prices in the food group in January this year had a rise in price of vegetable production – by 6%.
Thus, prices for cucumbers for the month increased by 8.1%, potatoes – by 8%, white cabbage and tomatoes – by 6.8%, onions – by 6.5%, peppers – by 6.4%, beet – by 5.2%, carrot – by 4.4%.
Also it was fixed a rise in prices for dairy products – by 2.2%, due to appreciation of milk: raw – by4.1%, pasteurized – by 2.3% , sterilized – by 1.7% concentrated – by 1%, condensed – by 0.2 %, cheese and cottage cheese – by 3.2%, dairy products – by 1.7%.
This month cereals rose in price by 1.9% due to higher cost of oat groats – by 3.9%, semolina – by 3.6%, barley – by 2.6%, wheat – by 2.3%, buckwheat – by 1.1%. The cost of rice has increased by 2.5%, pasta – by 1.1%, said the IA “Kazakh-Zerno”.
Prices of eggs, according to observation of statisticians, increased by 5%.
Oils and fats rose by 0.2 %, including butter – by 3.5%. While sunflower oil prices fell by 1.8%.
Increase in price for tobacco was 6.3 %, alcoholic beverages – 0.7%.
Prices of meat and meat products decreased by 2.6%, due to cheaper mutton – by 4.3%, poultry – by 4.2 %, beef – by 2.3%, pork – by 1.6%, meat products – by 0.6%.
Tea became cheaper by 3.6%. Sugar price has not changed.
