The head of state has organized a meeting with the governors of the Akmola, North Kazakhstan, Pavlodar and Kostanai regions. The main question on the threshold of the harvesting campaign is the state of affairs in the fields.
Kostanai region governor Nuraly Sadvakassov: «As of today, 15% of the crops are in good conditions and about 1.2 million tonnes are in bad conditions. We are planning to harvest 4.3 million tonnes of grain».
Akmola region governor Kairat Kozhamzharov: «I would like to note the great support and subsidies given to agrarians. We will finish harvesting campaign in time if the weather is good».
Pavlodar region governor Yerlan Aryn: «The yearly crop yield of grain equals to 6-6.5 hundredweights per hectare. We expect 290 thousand tonnes of the grain gross yield, 300 thousand tonnes of potatoes and 120 thousand tonnes of vegetables».
North Kazakhstan region governor Serik Bilyalov: «This year we have bought 120 combines and the harvesting campaign will involve 9600 combines. We have tackled all issues relating harvesting campaign».
Specialists expect an increase in prices for bread. The Minister of Agriculture Assylzhan Mamytbekov said that missed opportunities will be compensated by the growth in prices.
Kazakh minister of agriculture Assylzhan Mamytbekov: «We have watched the weather forecast for August and September and found out that in August the rainfall will be very high, especially in grain growing regions. From one side it’s good but at the same time there are risks of rapid growth of weeds».
Speaking with regional governors the head of state announced a number of remarks. First of all, Nursultan Nazarbayev is not satisfied with the use of land resources of the country. Hundreds of plots are lying idle for ages.
President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev: «I have commissioned making the revision of lands. It is necessary to work. There are a lot of people, who are gaining money due to the state and the land they own is lying idle. We should never stop working on this direction».
The development of tourism is very important issue. Kazakhstan is in demand in foreign travel agencies as a very interesting and progressive country. It is necessary to continue this work, construct modern roads and develop infrastructure.
President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev: «Tourism makes up a huge part of any economy. According to the calculations, the number of tourists is to increase to 1.5 million people in the Akmola region. However, the vast majority of tourists come only in Borovoye. It is necessary to use more of the Zerendy and Aiyrtau districts. If it was in the West, they would turn it into a wonderful place».
Another unique programme that is being implemented in the country is connected with the modernisation of housing and municipal services. The government allocated 2 billion tenge for repairing housing in four northern regions allocated. The money has not yet been used.
President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev: «No country in the CIS issues money for such purposes. It is only our country that has taken up this programme and promised to do everything for it. You receive a 50% transfer, and you invest the other 50% and repay the loan. Then the loan will be calculated. If they don’t want it nobody forces them to do it. After the overhaul, the cost of apartments will increase by 3 times. The utilities will reduce by 40%. No one will give it as a gift».
Also, as part of his trip to the Akmola region, President Nursultan Nazarbayev met with the heads of the northern regions to discuss opportunities that are now available thanks to the establishment of the Customs Union, as well as preparation for the coming winter.
