Kazakhstan: Food prices in Karaganda region increased by 1.4% for the month

“Inflation in Karaganda region in December 2017 amounted to 0.8%,” according to the statistics department.

Food prices grew by 1.4% in a month, non-food products – by 0.1%, paid services – by 0.7%.

Statisticians noted that the formation of the food price index in December was influenced by a rise in prices for cucumbers – by 40.9%, tomatoes by 29.7%, sweet pepper – by 15.4%, bananas – by 7.6% , oranges – by 4.7%, grapes – by 4.4%, beet – by 3.5%, eggs – by 3.4%, onion and mutton – by 3%, horse meat – by 2.2%, alcoholic beverages – by 2%.

A decrease in prices was recorded for buckwheat – by 3%, carrots – by 2.6%, cabbage – by 2.4%, reports the IA “Kazakh-Zerno.”
