Kazakhstan: Food products rose in price by 7.6% on the counters of Aktobe

According statistics department, in February this year compared with the same month of 2014 food prices in Aktobe region increased by 7.6%.

Thus, prices for cereals increased by 25.8%, polished rice – by 17%, flour – by 19.6%, bakeries and flour products – by 5.4%, pasta – by 6.8%, bread – by 16.2%, meat and meat products – by 5.2%, fish and seafood – by 9%, dairy products – by 8.6%, cheese and cottage cheese – by 12.6%, vegetables – by 8.7% confectionery products – by 3.9%, alcoholic beverages – by 5.0%, soft drinks – by 9.9%, sugar – by 15.1%, tobacco products – by 16.4%.

There was an increase in prices of vegetables for the mentioned period by 6.6%. Prices grew for onion – 7.5%, cabbage – by 19.4%, beet – by 8.6%, carrots – by 8.9%. Price of potatoes grew by 9%.

It should be noted, according to the monitoring conducted by the IA “Kazakh-Zerno”, in February in Aktobe region wheat of 3 class cost 42,200 tenge ($ 228), flour of extra-class, first-rate and second-rate was sold at 71,000 tenge ($ 384), 67,700 tenge ($ 366) and 66,500 tenge per ton ($ 359).
