Kazakhstan harvested 22 million tons of grain in 2017

The Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan reports on 100% completion of harvesting of cereals.

As indicated in the report of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as of October 30, grain harvesting was 100% completed. With an average yield of 14.4 q / ha in the current year, the country’s grain growers received 22,094 thousand tons of grain.

As previously reported the IA “Kazakh-Zerno”, the largest volume of grain this season was brought by the North-Kazakhstan region, farmers of which threshed 5 million 627.5 thousand tons. Next is Kostanay region with a result of 5 million 225.3 thousand tons. Akmola region closes the top three – 5 million 123.9 thousand tons.

Let’s note, according to the latest forecasts of the International Grains Council (IGC), grain exports in 2017-18 MY, according to October’s estimate, can drop to 8.2 million tons, as in the 2016-17 season. We recall, in September, analysts predicted sales abroad at a similar level.

Consumption of grain in Kazakhstan in the current season will decrease to 10 million tons against the indicator of 2016-17 MY (10.9 million tons).

Carryover stocks of grains in 2017-2018 in the October report are expected at a rate of 3.4 million tons. In 2016-17 MY, this indicator was 0.3 million tons higher, and at the end of 2015-16 season, the reserves amounted to 3.2 million tons.
