Kazakhstan: In Kyzylorda region prices for foodstuffs increased by 1.6%

According to statistics, food prices in June 2013 compared with the beginning of the year amounted to 101.6% (average for the country – 101.7 per cent), reported in the press center of the regional akim.

On July 2, 2013 compared with the previous month prices fell for eight types of goods. Namely: rice lost in price3 tenge, first-rate flour, pasta and poultry – 2 tenge, eggs – 30 Tenge, vegetable oil – 5 tenge, cucumbers – 80 tenge, tomatoes – 65 tenge, wrote the correspondent of the IA “Kazakh-Zerno”.

Potatoes and carrots rose by 10 and 13 tenge, respectively, while the prices of milk, sugar, beef, horse meat, lamb, onions, cabbage and apples have remained the same. The cost of 19 kinds of products in the region is below the average in the country.

In order to stabilize prices for socially important goods in the region were taken the following actions. The price monitoring is being held together with representatives of the media and information on the cost of goods in markets and retail outlets is published. Since the beginning of the year were held 5 agricultural fairs, on which were sold goods in the amount of 11.5 mln tenge.

Akim of the region Krymbek Kusherbayev commissioned to hold weekly fairs of agricultural products from August to November; under formation of the stabilization fund to focus on supporting local producers and monitoring of prices for socially important goods.
