Kazakhstan: In Kyzylzhar district harvest of winter crops is completed, but harvest of spring crops is just beginning

In Kyzylzhar district of the North Kazakhstan region harvest of winter crops is completed. The average yield is 10-12 quintals per hectare, reported IA “Kazakh-Zerno”.
Almost all farmers have already started the harvest of spring crops.
According to Ivan Rybas, the expert of the IA “Kazakh-Zerno”, yield in the Kyzylzhar district due to different factors (duration and depth of sowing, rainfall) will be different. Farmers, who had one good rain in their fields, can expect 8-10 quintals per hectare. Others, who had 2 or more rains, can have 16-18 quintals per hectare. The situation is rather bad for those farmers, whose fields have not received any rainfall this summer. They can expect that yield will vary from 4 to 6 quintals per hectare, but this is only for wheat.
The situation with barley is rather different. The yield can be about 6-8 quintals per hectare or even less.
