Over the past six months the number of small cattle in the country is gradually reducing. On the first of December the number of sheep and goats in the country amounted to 16,027.4 thousand heads, when in early November statistics reported about 19,433.3 thousand.
So, in November the number of sheep and goats in the country decreased by 3.4 million heads, wrote the correspondent of the IA “Kazakh-Zerno”. In general, within 11 months of the number of small cattle in the country fell by 1.6 million.
We recall, back in January 2013, the number of sheep and goats in the republic was close to 17,633.3 thousand heads.
According to the Statistics Agency, the undisputed leader in the production and maintenance of sheep and goats are the farms of South Kazakhstan and Almaty regions. At the beginning of the current month in the regions there was 3.4 million and 3 million heads respectively. The next regarding the volume of small cattle in the farms are Zhambyl and East Kazakhstan farmers, where the number of cattle exceeds 2 million.
