Breeding plants and farms of Karaganda region annually sell up to 4 thousand heads of pedigree cattle. It makes a significant contribution to the development of animal husbandry of the region; however, the share of breeding animals in the herd generally remains low. This was announced at a meeting of the regional akimat by deputy akim of the region Kairat Aituganov, writes the correspondent of the IA “Kazakh- Zerno”.
The share of breeding livestock in the region in cattle is 1.1 %, in sheep – 6%, horses – 1.3%, pigs – 28%.
On the recommendation of scientists on the basis of international experience, the share of breeding animals in the general population should be at least 25%. Without breeding herd farmers will not be able to increase productivity.
For the support and development of breeding from the regional budget in the current year were allocated funds in the amount of 120 million tenge, intended to partially reduce the cost of breeding production. These funds were distributed evenly for ranchers, horse owners, breeders and sheep farmers, with the status of the breeding farms and factories, and accounted for 15 % of the costs to the breeding of one head. According to the rules, the budget can subsidize up to 50 % of the costs.
– Given the low proportion of breeding population of brood sheep and horses, from next year the money we plan to direct to subsidize households, who are engaged in breeding of sheep and horses up to 41 % of the costs for cultivation of one head, said Kairat Aituganov.
For cattle breeders and pig farmers will continue subsidizing from the national budget.
