Kazakhstan: Karaganda will increase grain output by one-third

Новость на Казах-зерно:

To bring the grain harvest up to 1 million tons a year – such an ambitious goal is set by the Karaganda region. The head of the region Baurjan Abdishev said about this at a meeting on the results of the development of the region for the first 9 months of this year, said the correspondent of the IA “Kazakh-Zerno”.

According to the akim of the region, this year the region collects a large amount of grain, about 720 thousand tons. Yields is record, at 12.6 q/ ha. However, there are still plenty of reserves, which can be involved in the program of development of agricultural and industrial complex.

– Now we use 10 million hectares of land, – said the akim of the region. – However, 17 million hectares are not involved. We plan to return to the circulation 1 million hectares of land in the next few years, and this will allow us to solve the ambitious goal – to bring grain production to 1 million tons per year.

It should be noted that last year during the inventory of land in the region was found out about 900 thousand hectares of land that is not used by the current owners. Materials on 700 thousand hectares are processed at the moment, which should lead either to return the land to the effective turnover by the current owner, or to a change of owner.

Specific plans the authorities of the region associate with increased sowing acreage of forage crops – barley and oats.
