In recent years, Kazakhstan has made a serious bid for the world leadership in terms of manufacturing and exporting grain. Despite this fact, the country cannot do without investment. Such a topic was discussed at the fifth Astana Economic Forum by the participants in the exhibition entitled “KazAgro: ideas, investment and innovation”. Foreign capital is required primarily for the construction of modern silos and grain elevators and for the financing of measures to increase grain yield. There are already first results being seen now. As a result, not only grain terminals at the port of Aktau, but also abroad namely in Azerbaijan and Iran are now in operation. This year, Kazakhstan plans to supply 13 million tonnes of grain onto the world market.
Beibitkhan Kabdrakhmanov, Chairman of Board, Food Contract Corporation JSC: “Our main task is to attract as many investors in the agriculture sector as possible. We have already shown what we can do.
