The sown areas of the priority agricultural crop in the Almaty region – the “Queen of the fields” , maize – have been increased to 79,000 hectares.
This was announced today in the course of a briefing by the akim of Almaty region on the SSC site in Astana, the IA “Kazakh-Zerno” reports.
According to the akim of the region Amandyk Batalov, at the Zharkent Starch Plant after the reconstruction carried out within the framework of the Industrialization Map, a cycle of non-waste processing of corn was created, the processing capacity increased from 20 to 90 thousand tons, and production of 27 types of products was set up.
According to the information posted on the website of the akimat, in general, the corn sown areas in the region have been increased by 9,000 hectares for three years.
