Kazakhstan: Onion rose in price in Almaty, cucumbers fell in Shymkent

For the period from March 17 to March 24, according to “Kazagromarketing” JSC data, onion rose in price in Almaty by 14%, from 99 to 113 tenge / kg. The reduction in supply and an increase in wholesale prices by 4%, from 54 to 56 tenge / kg resulted in higher prices of onions.

At the same time, as noted in the monitoring, cucumbers in Shymkent became cheaper by 13%, from 400 to 350 tenge / kg. Saturation of the market with products and decline in wholesale prices by suppliers by 19%, from 320 to 260 tenge / kg, led to lower prices for productions, reported the IA “Kazakh-Zerno”.

There was not observed significant price fluctuations (over 10%) for the rest foodstuff.
