The size of sowing acreage for next spring will be approved only in the middle of this month. But Pavlodar farmers have already decided which crops will be sown on a larger area, which – on a smaller, wrote the correspondent of IA “Kazakh-Zerno”.
As reported in the regional agricultural department, farmers now give priority to the coarse grains. Therefore, they plan to increase the acreage for feed crops in the coming sowing.
“Due to the diversification the area under cultivation of wheat is reduced in the region. But the increase will be made for feed barley (from 70 to 100 thousand hectares), oats (from 22.5 to 24 thousand hectares), buckwheat (from 36 to 40 thousand hectares)”, explained in the department.
We remind, last year the planted area of grain in the region was 559.4 thousand hectares, from which in autumn has been harvested about 249.2 thousand tons.
