Kazakhstan: prices for flour and pasta rise

According to the JSC “KazAgroMarketing”, as of August 10, 2010 compared to previous weeks, prices for a number of foodstuff slightly increased, reported IA “Kazakh-Zerno”.
First-rate flour prices increased 2%, extra-class- 1.7%; pasta prices increased 1.1%, vegetable oil prices-1%.
Retail prices increased for beef, horse meat, and chicken by 1.3%, 1 % and 1.5%, respectively. 
For dairy products price increase was observed only for the butter and cheese by 0.7% and 0.1%, respectively. 
However, according to officials from the Ministry of Agriculture, republican data did not accurately characterize the price situation on the food in the regions, because the increase in prices in some areas is usually leveled by their decrease in others.
