Food prices in Kazakhstan in August 2013 rose by 4.3% compared with the corresponding month in 2012, said in the report of the Statistics Agency of Kazakhstan.
According to the statistics, in August prices pasta rose 10% y/y, flour – by 9.8%, fruits and vegetables – by 9.3%, coffee, tea and cocoa – by 4.3%, dairy products, fish and seafood – by 4.2%, alcoholic beverages – by 4%, oils and fats – by 3.9%, bakery and pastry products – by 3.8%, confectionery products – by 3.3%, bread – 1.7%.
The decrease in prices was observed for cereals – by 5.5%, sugar – by 4.8%, said the IA “Kazakh-Zerno”.
Prices for meat and meat products for the period increased by 2.9%. The price level of sausages became higher by 4.3%, horse meat – by 3.7%, mutton – by 3.4%, pork – by 2.5%, beef – by 2.3%, poultry – by 1 6%.
