Kazakhstan to attract foreign investment in sea fishing

Новость на Казах-зерно:

Chairman of Fisheries Committee under the Kazakh Agriculture Ministry Kadyrzhan Teylyanov believes that Atyrau and Mangystau regions of Kazakhstan could attract foreign investment in sea fishing.

“It is quite possible. The principle is the same as investing in the development of oil fields,” Teylyanov says. He suggests that fishing can come along with fish farming under the control of the state.

According to him, 60 percent of all fish caught in Kazakhstan goes for export. Now the state is going to change the rules of the game so that it becomes profitable for fish processing enterprises to sell fish inside the country, reported IA “Kazakh-Zerno” with the reference to “KAZINFORM”.

“All of this requires the support of the state. This support will be rendered through subsidies,” Teylyanov says.
