Kazakhstan will not have problems with storage of new grain harvest this year

This year Kazakhstan will not have problems with the storage of new grain harvest. About this told Asylzhan Mamytbekov, Chairman of the Board of JSC “KazAgro”, reported IA “Kazakh-Zerno”.

“This year the situation with the storage of grain is absolutely different than last year. If last year autumn was very wet, with plenty of rainfall, this year the autumn is dry and the grain is very dry. Agricultural producers were trying to bring grain to elevators in order to dry and preserve it, because it could spoil. This year’s grain can be stored in granaries. There is no need to store it at the elevators with lagre capacity. Therefore, free elevators allow to preserve all existing grain “, – said A. Mamytbekov.

“The Government took all necessary measures in order to move the grain from the northern regions to western and southern regions, where is the biggest consumption of bread and grain,” he added.

All these measures ensure the complete safety of grain”, said the Head of “KazAgro”.
In 2009 Kazakhstan harvested record 21 million tons of grain and supplied 8.3 million tons of grain and flour to the world market in 2009-10 marketing year.
