Mutton and pork have significantly risen in price in the West Kazakhstan

In the consumer market of the West Kazakhstan region, prices for goods and services in January increased by 0.3 percent compared with December 2017.

As indicated in the statistical report, in January the price index for food products amounted to 100.6 percent.

Prices increased for bakeries and confectionery products by 0.5 percent, flour – by 0.7 percent, fish and seafood – by 1.2 percent, tobacco products – by 1.4 percent, fruits and vegetables – by 1.6 percent, eggs – by 2.5 percent, alcoholic beverages – by 3.6 percent, lamb and pork meat – by 4 percent and 4.9 percent, respectively, reported the IA “Kazakh-Zerno”, referring to the statistical data.

Prices for buckwheat decreased by 0.8 percent, sugar – by 2.3 percent.
