Over the past 6 years, wholesale food trade in Kazakhstan has increased. At the same time, more than 80% of food passes through small wholesale, and only 9% is sold through large wholesale formats of trade. This leads to an increase in transportation, logistics costs, increases the risks of mechanical damage during loading and unloading of goods and losses during storage of products.
According to the data of analytical study, today in Kazakhstan the losses of foodstuffs in the process of delivery from the producer to consumers exceed 40%.
As it was noted at the meeting of the Council on Agricultural Policy under the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, all this affects the pricing of food.
As a result, passing the way from the producer to the consumer, the price of the goods increases by two-three or even fourfold, reports the IA “Kazakh-Zerno”.
Thus, firstly, the consumer buys the goods at a high price, and secondly, the income is received not by the producer, but by inefficient intermediaries.
Within the framework of the Development Map for Wholesale Distribution Centers, it is proposed to create a single wholesale unit in the form of a wholesale distribution center, where wholesale trade in food products for retail markets, shops, restaurants, cafes, hotels, etc. will be organized.
