Onion, rice and sweet cherry prices went up in Petropavlovsk

Prices remain steadily high at the meat market in Petropavlovsk. Salesmen in the market associate the current situation with the shashlyk season.

The correspondent of “KazakhZerno.kz” NA noted, havingvisited the central city market today, that the prices for Russian cheese have risen, which is most likely associated with the growth of the ruble exchange rate.

The price tag for Kazakhstani “Leader” rice unpleasantly surprised us – it grew by 60 tenge over the week.

The price tag for onion grew by 20 tenge on the counters of vegetable marketsand the price tags for cabbage, cucumbers and tomatoes decreased (-10, -20, – 20 tenge, respectively).

From the beginning of the year (May 2019 to December 2018), statisticians of the regional department noted an increase in prices for fresh vegetables by 24.8 percent, of which: onion – by 55 percent, sweet pepper – by 24.7 percent, garlic – by 17.2 percent, carrots – by 16.6 percent. Prices for white cabbage doubled. Along with this, the potato has fallen in price by 7 percent.

The price tag on the sweet cherry has also grown – now you can buy it for 1,350 tenge per kilo, but this is on the market, but you will not find this berry in supermarkets for less than 1,700 tenge. Sellers promise that the next delivery will be more expensive by 400 tenge.
