Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said that severe drought had destroyed grain sowings on 25 percent of the area sown for this year’s crop, reported “Kazakh-Zerno” IA with reference to the “Reuters”.
“Grain has been lost on one quarter of the sown area,” Medvedev said, without specifying the acreage. The area sown for this year’s grain crop is officially estimated at 43.6 million hectares.
