In the second quarter the average monthly nominal wage per employee in Kazakhstan was 124,227 tenge. According to the Committee on Statistics of the Ministry of National Economy, the nominal wage index for the second quarter of 2014 amounted to 102.9%, real – 98.6%. In the sectoral structure the highest nominal wage was recorded in mining and quarrying – 250.7 thousand tenge (2.0 times higher than the average national level), in professional, scientific and technical activities – 229.9 thousand tenge (1.9 times), in financial and insurance activities – 229.6 thousand. tenge (1.8 times), in the field of information and communications – 193.1 thousand tenge (1.6 times),in the area of transport and warehousing – 157.3 thousand tenge (1.3 times).
According to the calculations of statisticians, the lowest level in nominal wages was recorded in agriculture, forestry and fisheries – 69.6 thousand tenge, which is 44.0% lower than the national average, and in education – 84.4 thousand tenge, which is 32.0% below the average for the country, reports the IA “Kazakh-Zerno”.
Regionally, the highest nominal wage was recorded in the Mangistau region – 217.3 thousand tenge, which is 1.7 times higher than the national average. In Zhambyl region its value amounted to 85.2 thousand tenge, which is 31.4% below the national average.
