According to the regional departments of agriculture, on May 28 sowing of spring cereals in the Republic of Kazakhstan was held on 68% of the planned area – 529 thousand hectares.
Oilseeds occupied 1935.3 thousand hectares, accounting for 91.2% of the area. Perennial grasses – 260.9 thousand hectares (90.4%), wrote the IA “Kazakh-Zerno”.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, potatoes are planted on the specified date on 170.9 thousand hectares (93.4%). Vegetables are planted in the country on 120.7 thousand hectares – 91.9% of the area. It remained to plant melons on 3.4% of the area.
Planting of cotton is almost finished in the country – works are completed by 98%.
Sowing of rice is performed by 95.6%; maize is planted on 90.5% of the planned areas.
We recall that in the current year it is planned to plant 21.8 million hectares, which is 1.5% more than in 2013. Grains will occupy 15.9 million hectares, oilseeds – 2 million hectares, fodder – 3.4 million hectares, melons and potatoes – 410 thousand hectares.
