In November, the dynamics of the seasonal decline in the number of horses in Kazakhstan increased compared to October. The number of horses decreased to different extents in all regions. The greatest decrease, as a rule, took place in regions with a large herd of horses. In two regions, the livestock population decreased by than 10 thousand heads, in four regions – from 5 to 10 thousand heads. In other areas, decrease in livestock population is below this level.
According to the Committee on Statistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan, by November 1, the number of horses decreased from 2,612.5 in early October to 2,569.8 thousand heads, by 64.4 thousand heads in October or by 1.7 percent. By December 1, the statisticians recorded 2,502.4 thousand heads and in November decreased by 67.4 thousand heads or by 2.6 percent, reports the IA “Kazakh-Zerno”.
The greatest loss of horses in November, over 6 thousand heads took place in Almaty region – by 12.4 thousand heads from 325.8 to 313.4 thousand heads, in the East Kazakhstan region – by 11.1 thousand heads from 355.6 to 344.5 thousand heads and Turkestan region – by 6.4 thousand heads from 297.9 to 291.5 thousand heads. The decrease of 5 -6 thousand heads of horses was recorded in three more areas. These are Akmola region – by 5.8 thousand heads from 181.5 to 175.7 thousand heads, Aktobe region – by 5.5 thousand heads from 123.5 to 118 thousand heads and Pavlodar region – by 5.5 thousand heads from 159.1 to 153.6 thousand heads.
Four regions of Kazakhstan differ significantly from others in terms of horse population. Here the livestock population of these animals in each area exceeds 300 thousand heads or close to this indicator. These are the East Kazakhstan region – 344.5 thousand heads, Almaty region – 313.4 thousand heads, Karaganda region – 296 thousand heads and Turkestan region 291.5 thousand heads. In total, 1245.4 or 49.8 percent of the total Kazakhstan’s horse population is concentrated in these areas. In the remaining regions, the livestock population of these animals is less than 200 thousand heads, and in two of them, Atyrau and Mangystau, less than 100 thousand heads.
We recall. According to the Committee on Statistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan, at the beginning of the year there were 2,395 thousand heads in Kazakhstan, and by the middle of the year, 2851.1 thousand heads. As a result, in just six months the horses population increased by 456.1 thousand heads from 2,395 on January 1 to 2,851.1 thousand on July 1, or 19 percent. Compared to last year, the number of horses, as of July 1,grew by 154.2 thousand heads. In some regions, the situation with the increase in the number of horses was different.
In two months of the second half of the year – July and August the number of horses decreased to 2,676.9 thousand heads, by 174.2 thousand heads or by 6.1 percent. Including for the last summer month by 54,6 thousand heads. The livestock has declined in all regions without exception, but in different absolute and relative degrees. On October 1, the number of horses in Kazakhstan decreased to 2,612.5 thousand heads, by 64.4 thousand heads or 2.4 percent.
