According to the Statistics Agency of Kazakhstan, as of December 1, in the country there are about 6,003.5 thousand head of cattle. A similar index was observed in the country only in March this year, and after that the number of cattle did not fall below this mark, writes the correspondent of the IA “Kazakh-Zerno”.
The current figure is slightly higher than last year: in early December 2012 the number of cattle reached 5,937.5 thousand heads. It should be noted that Kazakhstan entered into 2013 with the following number of cattle – 5,690 thousand.
It is also worth noting that since the beginning of the autumn in the country the number of cattle decreased by more than half a million heads.
About 940 thousand heads of cattle have farms of Almaty breeders, hundreds of thousands heads less are in the South Kazakhstan backyards, and just over 825 thousand live on farms in East Kazakhstan breeders. In other regions of the country the number of cattle does not exceed 450 thousand heads.
