In January-July, in all categories of farms in the East Kazakhstan region the sale of livestock and poultry for slaughter in live weight amounted to 133.7 thousand tons (105.1 percent compared to the same period in 2017), milk production – 535.0 thousand tons (103.9 percent), eggs – 88.4 million pieces (101.0 percent), reports the IA “Kazakh-Zerno”, referring to the statistical data.
The main producers of meat, milk and eggs are the households of the population; they produced 41.9 percent, 64.4 percent and 81.6 percent of the volumes of the region, respectively.
In early August 2018 compared to the same date in 2017, the number of cattle increased by 41.3 thousand head (3.9 percent), horses – by 24.7 thousand heads (6.8 percent), pigs – by 5.6 thousand heads (8,2 percent), poultry – by 7.3 thousand heads (0.2 percent). The number of sheep and goats decreased – by 279.2 thousand heads (11.5 percent).
The average milk yield per cow amounted to 1,268 kg (101.0 percent against the same period last year), the yield of eggs per laying hen amounted to 112 pieces (109.8 percent against the same period last year).
